The Street Fighter fights happen in the real world with an experiment developed for the augmented reality of the iPhone. Created using the iOS ARKit platform, “Street Fighter: Real World Warrior” allows two people to play game games using the real streets as scenery.
The project is being created by developer Abhishek Singh as a way to honor the classic “Street Fighter II: The World Warrior”. The commands are all made by the screen of the cell phone, with the 3D-modeled characters mingling with what happens in the background – whether they are pedestrians on a street, or even the TV picture of your house.
The only problem is that it is still not possible for anyone to play “Street Fighter II: Real World Warrior”. To Gizmodo, the developer has confirmed that he plans to make a public release of the game, but first needs to solve a fundamental issue: Capcom, the rights holder of the series, must authorize.
