Despite launching the Galaxy S9 not long ago, Samsung already prepares a new smartphone for the second half that should be part of the Note line. And it is likely that the future Note 9 has a digital sensor integrated into the screen, according to patents of the Korean manufacturer.
Discovered by the 91mobiles site, the fingerprint patent below the Samsung screen shows more or less how the feature can work on smartphones of the future.
The biometric sensor would be at the bottom of the screen. As soon as the user positions his finger in the region of the reader, he initiates the recognition of biometric information using the light output properties of the AMOLED screen by changing the brightness around the region being touched.
The technology demonstrated in the patent is very similar to that developed by the Synaptics Clear ID reader that is also used in the Chinese smartphone Vivo X21 UD, the first in the market with digital reader integrated to the screen. It is even possible that Samsung uses the same sensor, but so far there is no confirmation that this is the case.
If Samsung really chooses to adopt the technology already in Galaxy Note 9, we may see it in action in the coming months – the Korean manufacturer usually presents the devices of the line Note between August and September.
