Apple is already working on the development of iOS 12 for its mobile devices and among the new features is the expansion of Animoji – an animated feature launched on iPhone X that allows users to put virtual emojis on their faces, similar to Instagram filters, Facebook and Snapchat.
According to Bloomberg, in addition to creating new characters, the company is planning a new tablet model with Face ID, which will enable the use of Animojis on the iPad. The function is also expected to arrive at FaceTime so that users can use the masks during video calls.
The iOS 12 should still gain a change that will delight application developers and Apple’s most passionate users: the ability for a third-party application to work on both the iPhone and the iPad and Mac, integrating the entire system.
In addition, enhancements are being developed for the Do Not Disturb function, the integration of Siri, a new interface for importing photos for the iPad, and the possibility that several people play augmented reality games at the same time.
Apple is changing the way it upgrades its operating system. According to the publication, instead keep engineers developing a new system annually, part of the team will work in the next two years on improving features that are not updated over the years.
The goal is for the company to deliver on the promises made during the annual developer conference and for the new features to work reliably and as advertised. This avoids problems Apple has been experiencing lately, such as problems with iPhone X, as well as delays in the ability to send money through iMessage.
